WEB DESIGN NZ
Web Design
that converts.
AI-powered web design for NZ businesses. Fast, beautiful, and engineered to convert from day one — built by an Auckland web design agency that thinks like a search company.
Webgun is based in Henderson, West Auckland — serving Auckland businesses and clients nationwide. Builds ship in 2–6 weeks, not 2–6 months.
THE PROCESS
AI accelerates. Humans decide.
A Webgun web design build is three phases of work, compressed by AI on the heavy lifting and judged by humans on the parts that matter — design taste, content quality, and conversion logic.
Discovery & Strategy — We understand your market, your customers, and your goals. Then we build a plan with measurable targets so we both know what success looks like.
Design & Build — AI handles the heavy lifting. We handle the taste. Rapid iterations, constant refinement. You see real progress every week, not a black box for two months.
Launch & Optimise — Ship fast, measure everything, improve continuously. Your site gets better every month — content, schema, speed, conversion all tuned against real data.
WHAT YOU GET
Performance is non-negotiable.
Every Webgun web design build is engineered to the same performance baseline — sub-2-second mobile load, perfect SEO foundation, AI-search ready. The brief changes; the standard does not.
Lightning Fast
Sub-2-second load times. Every page. Every device. Tested on Spark and One NZ 4G — not just on desktop fibre.
Built to Last
Clean code, modern frameworks, security baked in. No bloated themes, no abandoned plugins, no future-tech-debt time bombs.
Mobile-First
Designed for thumbs, tested on every screen size from a 5-inch phone to a 32-inch monitor. Mobile is the default; desktop is a refinement.
SEO Foundation
Technical SEO, GEO and AIO built in from the first commit — schema, structured content, AI-search optimisation. Your site ranks on day one, not in month six.
EVERY BUILD INCLUDES
No surprises. No upsells.
A Webgun web design project is a fixed scope, fixed price, fixed timeline. The standard inclusion list is the same whether you are a sole-trader plumber in Henderson or a multi-location hospitality operator in Queenstown.

WEB DESIGN NZ — FAQ
Common questions about
web design in NZ.
How much does a web design project cost in NZ?
Every build is scoped to what your business actually needs, not pulled off a price list. We quote in writing after a free audit so you see exactly what we propose and why. There are cheaper options out there — but most save you money on the build and cost you ten times that in lost leads from a slow, hard-to-find site.
How long does an Auckland web design project take?
Most Webgun web design builds ship in 2–6 weeks end-to-end. AI-assisted design lets us compress what other Auckland web design agencies stretch to 3–6 months without compromising quality. Larger multi-page builds with custom integrations sit at the longer end. We share a build calendar so you always know what is happening this week.
What makes Webgun different from other NZ web design agencies?
Three things. First, we use AI to compress build time without trading away quality — same hand-finished result in a fraction of the time. Second, every site ships with SEO, GEO and AIO foundations so you rank on Google AND get cited by ChatGPT from day one. Third, we are an Auckland web design agency that thinks like a search company — we build for leads, not just for looks.
Do you build websites for businesses outside Auckland?
Yes. Webgun is Auckland-based but we build websites for NZ businesses across Hamilton, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Rotorua, Taupo, Whangarei, Palmerston North, Napier, Hastings, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, Queenstown, Dunedin and the wider regions around each. See our Areas page for the full list of markets we serve.
What technology stack do you use?
We pick the stack that fits the brief — Next.js or Astro for content-heavy sites, Cloudflare Workers and Pages for global edge delivery, Tailwind for design systems, and a pragmatic CMS layer (Sanity, Payload, or static markdown) depending on how the team will edit content. We avoid WordPress unless there is a specific reason it is the right choice.
Do you handle ongoing maintenance and updates?
Yes. After launch we offer monthly retainers covering content updates, security patching, performance monitoring, and ongoing SEO/GEO/AIO refinement. Most of our clients stay on a retainer because the site keeps getting better month over month — not because they have to.
Can you redesign an existing website without losing search traffic?
Yes — and this is where most agencies lose customers their rankings. We map every existing URL, preserve or 301-redirect them, audit the schema and meta tags, and stage the rebuild so search-engine crawlers see continuity. Done right, a rebuild lifts rankings rather than collapsing them.
Do you offer e-commerce builds?
Yes — Webgun builds e-commerce sites on Shopify, custom Next.js + Stripe stacks, and headless platforms when the catalogue is large. We are not a Shopify-only shop, so we recommend the platform that fits the business, not whatever happens to be easiest to spin up.
