I'm Joel Patchett. I run Webgun from Henderson, West Auckland — 94b Henderson Valley Road — and I work directly with every client. Our home market is Henderson, Te Atatū, New Lynn, Titirangi, Glen Eden, Massey, Hobsonville and the wider Waitākere catchment; we work with clients across the rest of NZ too.
The agency model is broken. Most NZ businesses end up paying $5K–$30K for a website that loads slowly, isn't found in search, and looks like every other template-driven build. The "team" they were sold often turns out to be one junior + a project manager.
We do it differently. I'm on every project personally, with a small build crew behind me on the bigger jobs. AI where it genuinely helps; real-world judgement from running businesses, not just building sites for them. The result: work that ships faster and sharper than agencies three times the size, without the three-times-the-size invoice.
